The thing that really stands out is the focus on injuries. Most sports books either avoid the topic completely, or dismiss it as a minor thing, but probably half of this book is nothing but describing the various injuries the players have and how they affect their life. This alone gives a refreshingly realistic viewpoint to the book.

The rest of the book is not bad either, though the marijuana witchhunts seem archaic by today's standards.
