When Clay Carter got the offer in the beginning, I thought "Wouldn't it be nice if he accepted it, facing the reality of the situation? Too bad he'll reject it and the rest of the book will be spent going through a boring lawsuit he'll try to launch against the mysterious corporation." There are times when you're happy you were wrong, and this is one of them. Great fun reading about his adventures as he takes the money and runs with it.
