The earlier, grittier Hiaasen at work. Fast read, but the characters are just way over-the-top. They're not quite believable, or for that matter, likeable. And the women in the book behave even more irrationally than the men, if that's possible.

Of course, maybe Hiaasen intended it just this way, what do I know. I'm not the multi-million dollar author, he is. (If you're reading this, wanna switch places?)
